Felt Cupcake Plushie Tutorial

Good night! ^_^ Told ya I was a night owl..
Anyhow, I made a felt cupcake an hour ago and wanted to share. Yes, when was the last time I made a felt tutorial? I know, right? So why not now? ^^

Template is here.

Let's begin :)

Using a blanket stitch, sew the long piece of felt around the circle to create the bottom of the cupcake. Cut off any excess.

Sew on your kawaii face :)

Sew your smaller circle in the middle of the bigger one.

Again with a blanket stitch, sew the large circle to the cupcake bottom, stuffing it as you go.

You should have this so far :) Almost done!

We are going to make a little dollop of whipped cream to sew on top :) You should have this shape.

Sew the tips together by stringing your needle through each tip. Hope I am making some sense...and that you can see the thread, since I know it's not very visible, as it's white.

Pull the needle. The tips of your shape should come together, like this. Make a knot and cut off your excess thread, and you're left with a cute little whipped cream dollop!

Sew the whipped cream on the top of the cupcake.

Done! :)

I know there are other methods to make a felt cupcake plushie, but this was the one I decided to do today :)
Hope you liked the tutorial, and if you do make this plush, let me know!

love love love! MJ

    1. Thanks Maddie! I don't use a sewing machine--my plushies are hand-stitched using mostly blanket stitches. If you have any other questions, just ask, I'd be happy to help ❤

The way I made the whipped cream isn't necessarily "my own method"--you can definitely use it. :) You don't have to give me credit for it, either ❤
